Is it free to use?

Absolutely. Browsing fixtures, checking scores, finding bars, and exploring the calendar is 100% free. You only pay when you choose to book a table at a venue that offers ticketed seating. There are no hidden fees or subscriptions for fans.

Do I need an account?

However, creating a free account unlocks extra features like saving favorites, managing orders, setting notification preferences, and adding tickets to your digital wallet.

We track over 2,300 teams across all leagues. Each team has fixtures, logos, and is searchable through the calendar. You can save your favorite teams to get personalized updates.

Can I see live match updates?

Yes. When a match is in progress, you'll see live status indicators including the current period (1H, 2H, HT, ET, Penalties), live scores updating in real-time, and progress indicators. Live matches are highlighted on the calendar and fixtures pages.

Where can I check final scores?

Visit the Scores page to see completed match results. You can filter by sport, league, team, and date. All final scores show the full-time result along with match status (FT, AET, PEN for penalty shootouts).

Where does the sports data come from?

We source fixture data from TheSportsDB, a comprehensive sports database. Fixtures are synced automatically every hour to ensure up-to-date schedules, scores, and statuses across all leagues.

What if my sport or league is missing?

We're constantly expanding our coverage. If you'd like us to add a specific sport or league, submit a request through our Help Center and we'll look into it.

Fixtures & Calendar

How to browse, filter, and track upcoming games.

How do I browse fixtures?

Go to the Calendar page to see all upcoming fixtures. Use the date ribbon at the top to jump between dates. Fixtures are grouped by league and show team badges, match time, and venue info.

How do I filter by sport or league?

You can filter fixtures in several ways:

Sport filter: Use the sport icons in the navigation or browse sections to view only that sport
League filter: Click on a league name or badge to see only fixtures from that league
Date filter: Use the date ribbon to jump to a specific day
Search: Search for specific teams, leagues, or events

You can also visit dedicated sport and league pages directly (e.g., /premier-league).

What information does a fixture page show?

Each fixture detail page includes:

Teams: Home and away team names, badges, and league
Date & Time: Match kickoff in your timezone
Status: Upcoming, live, or finished with score
Venue: Where the match is being played
Bars: Sports bars and pubs near you showing this game
Events: Bookable events at bars for this fixture
Cover image: Auto-generated match graphic

Are fixture times shown in my timezone?

Yes. All fixture times are automatically displayed in your local timezone based on your browser settings. You can also set a preferred timezone in your account settings if you want to override the automatic detection.

What do the fixture statuses mean?

Upcoming: Match hasn't started yet
Live / 1H / 2H / HT: Match is in progress (first half, second half, half time)
ET: Extra time being played
PEN: Penalty shootout in progress
FT: Full time — match is finished
AET: After extra time
Postponed: Match has been rescheduled
Cancelled: Match will not be played
Abandoned: Match was stopped and not completed

How does the date ribbon work?

The date ribbon at the top of the Calendar page lets you quickly jump between dates. Tap any date to load fixtures for that day. The current date is highlighted, and you can scroll left/right to navigate through the week.

What are sport pages?

Each sport has its own dedicated page (e.g., soccer) that shows only fixtures for that sport. Sport pages include the sport badge, all active leagues, and filtered fixtures. You can access them from the Browse section on the homepage or from the sport icons in the navigation.

What are league pages?

Each league has its own dedicated page (e.g., Premier League) showing only fixtures from that competition. League pages display the league badge, fixture schedule, and team matchups. You can reach them from the Browse section, sport pages, or by clicking a league name anywhere on the site.

Finding Bars & Venues

How to discover sports bars and get there on game day.

How do I find bars showing my game?

There are two ways:

1. From a fixture: Open any fixture and scroll down to see bars and events for that game
2. Browse locations: Visit the Locations page to browse all sports bars, filter by nearby or search by city/name

Each venue shows its address, upcoming events, and what games they're showing.

How does 'nearby' work?

When you allow location access in your browser, Bookvelt can show you venues sorted by distance from your current position. Tap 'Use My Location' on the Locations page to enable this. Your location is used only for sorting and is never stored.

What can I see on a venue page?

Each venue detail page shows:

Cover photo and logo
Address and phone number
Website and menu link
Google Maps rating and reviews
Interactive map with venue pin
Upcoming events at this bar
Directions via Google Maps or Apple Maps
Uber ride estimate to get there

How do I get directions to a bar?

On any venue page, you'll find buttons for Google Maps and Apple Maps that open directions directly in the maps app on your phone. These links use the bar's exact coordinates for accurate navigation.

Can I get an Uber to a bar?

Yes. On supported venue pages, you can see a ride estimate from Uber and tap to open the Uber app pre-filled with the bar's address as the destination. This feature requires allowing location access so we can estimate your pickup point.

Can I see a venue's opening hours?

Opening hours are displayed on each venue's detail page when provided by the bar. Look for the business hours section below the venue address and contact information.

Can I see a venue's food and drink menu?

If the venue has provided a menu link, you'll find a Menu button on their detail page that opens their menu in a new tab. Not all venues include a menu link.

Can I see venue ratings and reviews?

Yes. Venue pages show Google Maps ratings and review counts when available. This helps you choose the best bar for your game day experience.

Events at Bars

How bar events work and how to find the best game day experience.

What is an event?

An event is a bar or pub hosting a viewing party for a specific fixture. For example, a sports bar in Madrid might create an event for Real Madrid vs Barcelona, set up ticket prices, assign seating areas, and accept bookings. Events have their own page with details, pricing, and a booking button.

What's the difference between a fixture and an event?

A fixture is a scheduled sports match (e.g., Arsenal vs Chelsea). An event is a bar or pub hosting a viewing experience for that fixture with bookable tables, pricing, and seating. One fixture can have multiple events at different bars.

How do I browse events?

Visit the Bookings page to see all upcoming events at bars. You can:

- Search by event name, venue, or league
- Filter by sport using the sport tabs
- Filter by date using the date picker
- View event details by tapping on any event card

What are event phases?

Events go through several phases:

Booking Open: You can select seats and purchase tickets online
Walk-in: Online booking has closed, but you can walk in to the bar
Live: The event is currently happening
Ended: The event has finished

The booking window typically closes 45 minutes before kickoff, after which the event switches to walk-in mode.

What information does an event page show?

Each event detail page includes:

Cover image and title
Date, time, and timezone
Venue name, address, and map
Event description set by the bar
Ticket types and pricing
Seating availability
Book button to start checkout
Related events at other bars showing the same game

Can I share an event with friends?

Yes. Every event has a short link that you can copy and share via messaging apps, social media, or email. The short link format is compact and works across all platforms. You can also share the full event URL which includes the event name for better context.

What does 'walk-in' mean?

When an event switches to walk-in mode (typically 45 minutes before kickoff), online booking closes. You can still go to the bar and try to get a table on a first-come, first-served basis. The walk-in status is clearly shown on the event page.

Booking & Checkout

Everything about reserving tables and completing your order.

How do I book a table at a bar?

Follow these steps:

1. Find a fixture or event at a bar
2. Tap Book to open the checkout page
3. Select your tickets (seated or general admission)
4. Choose your seats on the interactive seating map (if applicable)
5. Enter your name and email (or log in to your account)
6. Apply a coupon code if you have one
7. Complete payment with card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay
8. Receive your confirmation email with QR code and wallet passes

Important: The payment you make is a service fee for managing and processing your booking through our platform. It does not count toward food, drinks, or purchases at the venue.

How does seat selection work?

Venues that offer assigned seating use an interactive seating map. You can:

View available seats — colored by area/section
Tap to select — choose specific tables or seats
See pricing — each area may have different prices
Hold seats — your selected seats are held for 5 minutes while you complete checkout

If you don't complete the order within 5 minutes, your seats are automatically released so others can book them.

Can I book for a group?

Yes. You can select multiple seats at the same table, or book an entire table for your group. The available group size depends on the venue's seating configuration. All seats in your order are linked to a single QR code for easy check-in.

Can I book without an account?

Yes. Guest checkout is available — just enter your name, email, and optionally your phone number. You'll receive your order confirmation and ticket by email. If you create an account later with the same email, your past orders will be linked to your account.

How do I use a coupon or promo code?

On the checkout page, look for the coupon code field in the order summary. Enter your code and it will be applied to your order. Discounts can be a percentage off or a fixed amount. Some venues also have auto-applied promotions that are added automatically at checkout.

What is the 5-minute seat hold?

When you select seats during checkout, those seats are temporarily held for you for 5 minutes. You'll see a countdown timer on the checkout page. If you don't complete your payment within that time, the seats are released back to the pool so others can book them.

No-show policy: If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, your reservation may be released without refund. Contact us in advance if you'll be late.

What is general admission vs seated?

Seated tickets reserve a specific table and seats at the bar. General admission tickets let you enter the venue but don't guarantee a specific table — seating is first-come, first-served. Both ticket types include a QR code for check-in.

Can I book tickets for multiple events?

Each booking is for a single event. If you want to attend multiple events, you'll need to make separate bookings. Each booking gets its own order confirmation, QR code, and wallet pass.

Payments

Payment methods, security, and billing information.

What payment methods are accepted?

We accept the following payment methods:

Credit/Debit Cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express
Apple Pay: On Safari and iOS devices
Google Pay: On Chrome and Android devices

All payments are processed securely through Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor trusted by millions of businesses worldwide.

What currencies are supported?

Pricing is set by each venue and displayed in their local currency. We support EUR, USD, GBP, JPY, CHF, CAD, and AUD. The currency symbol is shown next to all prices so you always know what you're paying.

Are my payments secure?

Yes. All payments are processed through Stripe, which is PCI DSS Level 1 certified — the highest level of payment security. Your card details are never stored on our servers. They are sent directly to Stripe's secure infrastructure.

What is 3D Secure verification?

Some card payments require an additional verification step called 3D Secure (3DS). Your bank may ask you to confirm the payment via their app, SMS code, or a redirect page. This adds an extra layer of fraud protection. If triggered, simply follow the prompts from your bank to complete the payment.

Is tax included in the price?

Yes. All prices shown include applicable taxes. The tax amount is broken out in your order summary so you can see exactly how much goes to tax. Tax rates are set based on the venue's location.

Important: The payment is a service fee to STARTIVENT, LLC for booking management, venue coordination, seating arrangements, digital pass generation, and customer support. It is not a deposit and does not count toward food, drinks, or any purchases at the venue.

How do I get a receipt?

Your order confirmation email serves as your receipt. It includes the venue name, event details, itemized pricing, tax breakdown, and payment method. You can also view these details on your order confirmation page.

What if my payment fails?

If your payment fails, your seats are released and you can try again. Common reasons for failed payments:

- Insufficient funds: Check your card balance
- 3D Secure declined: Complete the bank verification step
- Card declined: Try a different card or payment method
- Network error: Check your internet connection and retry

If the problem persists, try using Apple Pay or Google Pay as an alternative.

Orders & Tickets

Managing your bookings, tickets, and order history.

What happens after I book?

After a successful payment, you'll receive:

1. Confirmation page — with your order details, QR code, and wallet pass download buttons
2. Confirmation email — sent to the email address you provided at checkout, with all booking details
3. Wallet pass — add your ticket to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet for quick access on game day

Your order reference code (e.g., SB-XXXX) is your unique booking identifier.

Where can I find my orders?

If you have an account, go to My Orders in your customer panel to view all your bookings. Each order shows the event, venue, date, seating, and status.

If you checked out as a guest, use the order confirmation link from your email to view your order details.

How does the QR code work?

Each order has a unique QR code that you show at the venue entrance. The bar staff scans it to verify your booking and check you in. You can display it from your confirmation email, the order page on the website, or your Apple/Google Wallet pass.

Can I cancel a booking?

Cancellations made at least 30 days before the event date are eligible for a full refund of the service fee. Cancellations made less than 30 days before the event are not eligible for a refund.

To request a cancellation, email legal@startivent.com with your booking reference number.

Read the full Bookings Policy for details.

How do refunds work?

Approved refunds are processed through your original payment method within 5-10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer. Refund requests should be directed to legal@startivent.com with your booking reference number. Partial refunds may be offered at our discretion for certain situations. Note: The 14-day consumer withdrawal period does not apply to bookings for leisure or event services scheduled for a specific date, as permitted under applicable consumer protection laws.

What do the order statuses mean?

Confirmed: Payment received, your booking is secured
Pending: Payment is being processed
Cancelled: The booking was cancelled (by you or the venue)
Refunded: A refund has been issued to your payment method
Expired: The event has passed

What does the confirmation email include?

Your confirmation email includes:

- Order reference code (e.g., SB-XXXX)
- Event name, date, and time
- Venue name and address
- Seating details (area, table, seat numbers)
- Pricing breakdown with tax
- QR code for check-in
- Wallet pass buttons (Apple Wallet, Google Wallet)

Emails are sent from coach@bookvelt.com (Bookvelt Coach).

Will I get a reminder before the event?

Yes. If you have booking reminders enabled in your notification preferences, you'll receive a reminder email before your event starts with all the details you need for game day.

What happens if the fixture is rescheduled or cancelled?

If a fixture is rescheduled or cancelled, you'll receive an email notification with the updated details. If the event is cancelled entirely, you'll be offered a full refund. If rescheduled, your booking automatically moves to the new date and time.

How do I get an invoice?

Invoices are available 12 hours after the event ends. Go to My Orders and click the Invoice button next to your completed order.

The first time you request an invoice, you'll be asked to fill in your billing details:
- Full name (first + last)
- Document type and number (VAT ID, NIF, NIE, Passport, National ID, TIN, or other)
- Address, city, postal code, and country
- Company name (optional)
- Email and phone (optional)

Your billing details are saved in the Billing section of your account and are reused for all future invoices. The invoice downloads as a PDF file.

Invoices are issued by STARTIVENT, LLC (EU VAT OSS: EU372094409) and include the full breakdown: line items, subtotal (excl. tax), tax rate and amount, total, and payment method.

Where can I manage my billing details?

Go to the Billing tab in your account panel. You can update your name, company, document type/number, address, email, and phone at any time. These details appear on all your invoices.

Your Apple Wallet pass includes:
- Event name and date/time
- Venue name and address
- Your seating details (area, table, seats)
- QR code for check-in
- Order reference number

How do I add my ticket to Google Wallet?

Your Google Wallet pass includes:

- Direct link to your order

Can I print a PDF ticket?

Yes. On your order confirmation page, you can download a printable PDF ticket. The PDF includes your order details, seating information, and a QR code that the venue can scan at check-in.

How does check-in at the venue work?

When you arrive at the bar, show your QR code to the staff at the entrance. They'll scan it with their device to verify your booking. You can show the QR code from your phone's wallet app (Apple or Google), from the order confirmation email, from the website, or from a printed PDF. The scan confirms your booking and marks you as checked in.

Does my wallet pass update automatically?

Apple Wallet passes include static information from the time of booking. If your event details change (reschedule, cancellation), you'll receive an email with updated information. Google Wallet passes may update automatically when changes are pushed.
